Rumor mill has it that Country/Western duo Brooks & Dunn are calling it a career after 20 successful years together. The word is that they will plan for their final tour in 2010, although I have not heard or read whether they'll plan on going solo beyond that point or if they'll ride off into retirement.
While I do not consider myself to be an avid country music fan much less an avid Brooks & Dunn fan, I will say that I am thankful for their music as I remember many Trinity University Ropers dances with my wife to a number of their tunes (My Maria, Boot Scootin' Boogie, Neon Moon, Hard Workin' Man, etc.). I also have fond memories of seeing them perform in concert twice at the San Antonio Rodeo, including one great evening shared with my Aunt Donna and Aunt Darlene during their visit from Philadelphia. My aunts are huge Brooks & Dunn fans, and it is especially for them I am truly sorry to see the duo call it quits.
