InLight Richmond

Last night we had the privilege of attending Richmond's second annual exhibition of outdoor light-inspired contemporary art at the InLight Richmond 2009 event downtown. It was almost magical being able to walk through downtown streets on a cool evening and see how installations, projections, and sculptures transformed office buildings, plazas, and alleyways into artwork! The event was very family friendly, with tons of little kids carrying around homemade lanterns, and there were lots of interesting folks out participating in "light parades" complete with light-inspired costumes and music. I appreciated that the event was free and was a solid effort by the community to promote awareness of the arts.
