Week in Review: 9/9-9/16

A brief review of highlights from the past week:
  • Ate dosas for the first time at an Indian Pastry House on the recommendation of my Sri Lankan classmate (www.indianpastryhouse.com)
  • Relived a piece of my childhood by watching Dick Tracy
  • Relived another piece of my childhood by re-discovering coconut cream pies (this time in Tastykake form)
  • Attended a small neighborhood birthday gathering for one of Aubree's co-workers
  • Completed the week's homework and readings in a timely manner
  • Enjoyed phone conversations with my parents and grandparents
  • Met the new neighbor who moved into our backyard...a 2 to 3-inch yellow garden spider (for examples, check out http://www.spiderroom.info/va_gardenspider.html and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argiope_aurantia... their webs are as intimidating as their size!)
  • Started my class in Qualitative Analysis
  • Learned that almonds are actually members of the peach family
