Week in Review: 1/6-1/13

A brief review of the past week:

• Settled back in to Richmond
• In an effort to get adjusted to colder weather again after three weeks in Texas, we used Christmas money to get new winter coats!
• Cheered for Texas in their loss to college football's national champions, Alabama (our Tuscaloosa visit was apparently unsuccessful at hurting Alabama's chances, but we were proud of the Longhorns' valiant effort nevertheless and confident they would have won with a healthy McCoy)
• Visits from Texas friends Jill Waters and Will Greendyke who are touring the country as they interview and prepare for upcoming doctoral residencies
• Enjoyed reconnecting with our congregation
• Rewarded the Subaru for his faithful work during our holiday roadtrip with a needed tune-up
• The Shay Clan expands...congrats to the Nicholsons on the birth of Hannah!
• Checked out what all the Avatar hype was about...it's a pretty impressive technical work
• Stocking up on books for the spring semester
• Tragic news from Haiti
