East End Charette

A couple weeks ago, if one had asked me if I would like to attend sessions of a charette process, I would have first asked, "What is a charette?"
For the past two weeks our neighborhood was the focus of a "charette" in which a series of public discussions and design sessions aimed to develop a vision for the future revitalization of the community.  I attended the opening and closing sessions, and it was interesting to see what developed over the course of the charette and see how excited and enthusiastic members of the community became about what could be possible in improving our community.

To learn more about the Charette, check out the blog that was developed to track its progress here.
