Emergencies & Anxieties

This morning was a difficult one for us as we had to take our beloved dog Penny to the emergency veterinarian clinic and admit her for IV fluids and 24-hour observation. We were forced to skip our planned church visit due to her unexpected illness, and while it may seem silly to ask for prayer for our pet, we would truthfully be grateful for your prayers as we trust God and His sovereignty. We hope to pick her up (with tail wagging) tomorrow morning if all goes well.

Along those lines, while we were unable to attend a worship service this morning, I did find inspiration in these passages:

"Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart." -Psalms 73:25-26

"Remember my affliction and my wanderings, the wormwood and the gall! My soul continually remembers it and is bowed down within me. But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 'The LORD is my portion,' says my soul, 'therefore I will hope in him.' The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him." -Lamentations 3:19-25
